We have already heard stories about dogs saving the lives of humans.
This story is nothing new, but it will touch your heart as these two furballs saved the life of an older woman living on her own and with Parkinson’s disease.
Judy Muhe, a 76-year-old woman from Palmdale, Florida, is living alone together with her two Golden Retrievers, named Higgins (10 years old) and Dodger (4 years old). Judy has Parkinson’s disease; that is why she needs a companion to help her cope with her medical condition.
Judy was in the kitchen when she accidentally fell on the floor. She broke her shoulder and bruised her head. While lying on the cold kitchen floor, Judy would fall out of consciousness now and then.
Judy does not have the energy to move nor to call for help.
For two days, her two dogs kept her warm. They would sleep beside her and would tug her face to check her consciousness. The dogs didn’t complain of hunger. They were just there to accompany Judy and to keep her alive.

Judy’s neighbor, Kathy Jacobs, checked out on her when she noticed that her house was so quiet. She also tried calling her several times. When no one is answering, Kathy and her husband decided to get into Judy’s house. Judy gave Kathy her a house key in case of emergencies.
Kathy immediately saw Judy lying on the floor. Judy’s dogs ran towards her and went back to Judy to show her where Judy is.
When Judy is telling her story, she can’t help but cry. She is thankful for her dogs, who didn’t leave her until help arrived.
Judy can’t help but say thanks to her two beautiful dogs. If not for her dogs who kept her warm, she might be dead before the neighbors know about her situation.
Judy is now at home, recovering from her accident at home.
Good job, Higgins and Dodger!
