Every dog owner is aware that their beloved dog’s life here on earth is limited. This is why most dog owners would often take advantage of the time they spend with their dogs. Although dogs will bid goodbye to their owners one day, all their memories will forever be etched in their owner’s hearts.

This is what Josh Groban is sure of when his dog named Sweeney passed away at age sixteen. Sweeney has been with the singer since the dog was still a puppy. With this, it was extra challenging for Josh to accept the dog’s fate.

It took Josh a while before he mustered the courage to accept what happened. A few days after the dog passed away, Josh posted on his Instagram account about the death. He shared with his followers that Sweeney, his most loyal dog, has gone to the dog heaven.

But instead of wallowing in sadness, Josh recalled the happy memories he had with the pup. He began his trip down memory lane by identifying when the dog became part of his life. The singer vividly remembered the date he adopted the dog.

According to Josh, holding Sweeney in his arms for the first time in 2004 was surreal. He could not believe that he is already a dog dad back then. But even with inhibitions, the singer pushed through with Sweeney’s adoption. Josh said that adopting the dog was the best decision he made in the last few years.

Josh said he became more patient in dealing with Sweeney and other dogs. The singer added that there was never a dull moment he had when he was with Sweeney. Although the death of his dog still stings, Josh takes it one day at a time. He said it would not be the same without Sweeney, but Josh knows that the dog is in a better place now.
