Reading stories about a pup having a hard time is always hard to do. Some just can’t bear to see this adorable animal in a bad situation. But it’s a different story when the pup gets a happy ending. Instead of feeling bad for the pup, we could even be encouraged by his strength and endurance.

An Akita-Shepherd mix named Bear had a traumatic experience of being shot and left for dead in a trailer park in Georgia. Bear must have been very afraid and vulnerable at that time. But he stayed strong until he was rescued by a rescue organization called Second Chance Rescue NYC Dogs.

Bear was immediately brought to the vet. Upon examination, they found that the pup was shot in his leg. The bullet damaged Bear’s leg, so they had to amputate the poor pup’s front left leg.

Even though Bear looked and moved differently from other pups, he adapted well and did not let his past and his disability put out the spirit in him. The three-legged pup is very thankful for all those who helped him. So the pup plans to live his life to the full.

The pup enjoyed his stay in a foster home while he was recovering from the surgery. During his stay, Bear proved to be the best boy he could be. The four-year-old pup was very well behaved. He listened to those around him, was good with kids and other dogs, and was house trained.

Bear loves taking walks around the neighborhood. And just like most pups, he also loves his treats. Bear is a very positive pup and displayed no signs of disruptive behavior. The only problem Bear has is getting in a car. His foster mom said that the pup needs help climbing into a car, but he can manage jumping out of it very well.

Just a few days after Second Chance Rescue NYC Dogs shared a post about Bear looking for a home, a man contacted them wanting to share his home with the pup. Now, Bear is happily living with his fur dad. Despite all the trials he had in the past, Bear is enjoying his new life with his new family.
