In India, this dog named Chambi was barely recognizable when volunteers at a local animal rescue center found her on the road’s side. Based on the rescuers’ accounts, the dog got stuck to the pavement as she was unable to move.
Apart from that sorry state, Chambi likewise was covered with coal tar and debris. As soon as the rescuers realized the gravity of the dog’s condition, they brought her to the Animal Rahat. The severity of the dog’s condition took the volunteers four days to clean her up.
The volunteers ensured that the dog would have a transformation no one expected. Since the dog’s skin was filled with debris and tar, the volunteers used coconut and vegetable oil to make the process pain-free.
Since they knew that the process would be painful, the volunteers ensured that the dog would feel less pain. But they were surprised because the dog mustered enough courage to go on with life. According to the volunteers, Chambi fought for her dear life and never wavered in her faith.
After a few months, there was an improvement in the dog’s condition. This was the time the volunteers waited before introducing the dog to other dogs in the shelter. The volunteers decided to isolate the dog so that Chambi could focus on her healing.
Although isolated, the volunteers ensured that the dog had enough human interaction. The volunteers likewise made Chambi felt that she is wanted and loved. When the dog met the other dogs from the shelter, she made friends right away.
But more than this, what made the volunteers very pleased is that the dog’s skin healed completely. The dog has since then been covered with a full coat of brown and white fur. It was surreal on the part of the volunteers because they were successful in helping Chambi out.
