The Villalobos Rescue Center is known for being a pit bull shelter. However, they also have a lot of other breeds there. They grew to become a shelter for all types of dogs.

The center gets adoption applications from people who have specific needs. Sometimes they don’t specify if they want a pit bull or not. They just tell Tia the personality and characteristics they are looking for.

A couple from California visited the center looking for a specific breed. Bonnie and Bryan are looking for a labrador. Bryan had a labrador named Shadow that he rescued when the dog was an 8-year-old.

Shadow was a dog who followed Bryan wherever he went. Unfortunately, he was only around for two years. Shadow lost his battle to lymphoma.

Bryan needs a new companion because he can’t leave his house due to being a cancer patient. Neuroendocrine cancer is a rare disease that makes a person look better instead of worse. He wants to have a constant companion while he battles the disease.

Tia has the perfect dog for the couple. His name is Bootstrap. He was a stray dog who had visible scars on his face. Someone had shut his mouth close with some wire.

Bootstrap sweetly greeted the couple. Bryan can relate to the scars because he has one too due to surgery. The couple also displayed a liking towards the dog.

Lizzy, Tia’s daughter, delivered Bootstrap to California. First, the labrador must be brought to the backyard to observe how he behaves there. The family watched Bootstrap run around the yard, and they gave him lots of hugs.

While his wife is at work and his kids are in school, Bryan will have Bootstrap by his side. The family believes they made the right choice. The labrador also loves his new home.
