Caroline Brixton is a childcare consultant and a French bulldog breeder. Recently, her dog gave birth to a litter of pedigree puppies worth a total of £16,200, which only proves the incredible demand for the breed.
According to Caroline, each of the puppies cost £2,700 ($3,425), making a total of £16,200 ($20,550). This comes amid reports about the soaring price of puppies during the lockdown. One data company even claimed that, since March, “buy a puppy” Google searches have shot up 120 percent.

Caroline said that she charges the same amount for boys and girls. She noted that she had not increased the prices and sticks to her screening process. One time, Caroline received a “name your price” offer, but she thought that the person was not suitable. So, Caroline turned the deal down and sold the puppy for a cheaper price to a better-suited family.
Caroline believes in choosing a secure, forever home over money every time. According to her, she does not go to bed for five weeks after a litter has been born. Caroline considers raising the puppies a full-time job, so she takes it seriously. Whenever her dog is due, she clears her work schedule for a month.
Before Caroline started breeding French bulldogs, she saw how poor the quality of the locally bred puppies was. That made her want to bring up healthy ones. Now that Caroline breeds her own, she stays with them day and night. That way, when they move with their families, they are toilet trained, they know their names, and are well-behaved and happy.

Caroline dedicates all her time to the puppies to ensure that they are ready for independence. Since the fur mom first fell in love with her dog six years ago, she has already raised a total of four litters. Caroline also became the very first Kennel Club-assured breeder locally.
Although it breaks her heart to say goodbye to the puppies, Caroline knows that they are going to a good home. Aside from interviewing prospective families, Caroline also keeps in touch with them once they get the dog. It takes so much time and dedication, but for Caroline, it is all worth it. She noted that her priority is having healthy puppies, and selling them is merely a bonus.
