This Golden Retriever named Forsberg found refuge in the presence of his cat best friend named Ginger. Ever since the two met each other, they became inseparable. Forsberg and Ginger would often be seen snuggling if not cuddling with each other.

Despite their stark differences, the two managed to transcend the same and be the best of friends. According to their fur parent, Jen Philion, the two would spend the entire day napping on the sofa. They enjoy each other’s company, so they never leave each other’s side.

However, Ginger got diagnosed with thyroid cancer a few years back. When Jen found this out, she knew that Ginger would not survive long. Although she is heartbroken of this development, she could not do anything.

As such, Jen allowed Ginger to spend his remaining days with his best friend, Forsberg. The dog was clueless about what was happening, so when the cat died, he got devastated. Jen felt the sadness of the pup, but she does not know what to do with Forsberg.

The dog was still in denial even after a few weeks that the cat passed away. Forsberg would often look for Ginger from room to room and often make sounds as if he was crying. This scenario broke the heart of Jen, but she was helpless as well.

One day, Jen thought of bringing a new cat inside the house. The cat’s name is Maxwell, and the cat has similarities with Ginger in terms of personality. After seeing Maxwell, Forsberg became upbeat again.

Jen knows that Maxwell could not fill the void left by Ginger. But she is happy to see Forsberg moving from the loss with his new friend. Jen is confident that Maxwell will be able to help Forsberg move forward without Ginger.
