Dog adoption is not cheap. The minimum amount to spend on dog adoption is around $1,000. For some families, sparing the amount for adoption is a big deal, that is why an 11-year-old kid put up a lemonade stand near his home to raise the required amount so that he can get his own dog.

Nick of Spokane, Washington, is an aspiring entrepreneur. He wants to adopt a dog from the shelter, but he does not want to ask money from his parents.

To raise the amount he needs, Nick thought of putting a lemonade stand and by mowing the lawns of his neighbors.

Nick was surprised to see that a lot of people supported his cause! Friends, neighbors, local businesses, and even police officers dropped by to buy a cup of lemonade on his mini-food stand. Some people gave money to Nick without asking for lemonade.

Others helped Nick in different ways; for example, a neighbor gave him a new blanket for his new pup.

While Nick was attending to his lemonade stand, a state trooper vehicle stopped at the curbside. He thought that his small business would be shut down. To his surprise, five other state troopers stopped by to buy lemonade from him!

People expressed their admiration for Nick over social media. Nick is a polite and grateful kid that they cannot wait to see him with his new pet. Nick earned more than $1,500 from his small business, more than enough to get him a new dog at the shelter.

Nick visited the local animal shelter to inquire for available dogs for adoption. After paying $1,200 adoption fee, Nick decided to donate the rest of his earnings from his lemonade stand to the shelter. Nick wants to make the animals happy by giving something for their needs.
