Lionel Vytialingam was out on a grocery run last month when he suddenly heard a sound of blaring horns. He checked what the commotion was all about and spotted a small dog in the middle of the traffic. Out of great concern, Lionel jumped in his car and followed the dog.
According to Lionel, it seemed like the little dog was clueless about what she was doing and where she was heading. Lots of bikes and vehicles were on the road, and the pup was walking into them as if she thought that they were her family.

Whenever Lionel would see the dog was swerving into oncoming traffic, he would hold his breath. Eventually, Lionel got close enough to the matted pup and pulled over. She saw Lionel’s outstretched arms and decided to walk out of the middle of the street slowly.
While the dog was approaching, Lionel noticed that there was a soggy note that was attached to the pup’s neck. Lionel said that he had never seen such a flimsy note tied around a pooch’s neck like that. He was hoping that it was the owner’s contact information so that he could send the dog back to her owner.
However, Lionel’s heart sank upon reading the letter. According to the note, the five-year-old golden doodle’s name is Siggy. Her owner decided to abandon her because he could no longer look after the pup. This brought Lionel in tears.

Lionel scooped Siggy up and brought her to his home. After a few hours, Siggy finally warmed up to her rescuer. Since then, she wouldn’t let Lionel out of her sight. Lionel said that Siggy started inching closer to him, maintaining eye contact, and allowing him to hold her close to him.
Siggy has since been showing Lionel how grateful she was for providing her a safe place. However, although he would like to keep the pup, Siggy and Lionel’s other rescue dog named Sammo are not getting along. Thankfully, Siggy and Lionel’s brother turned out to be a perfect match. So, she will move in with him as soon as Malaysia’s COVID-19 Movement Control Order ends.
