Pit bulls are known to be dangerous and vicious dogs. Some states in the United States prohibit pit bulls to be kept as pets. Oftentimes, pit bulls are used in dog fights because of its muscular built.
In defense, pit bull owners attest that these dogs can also be raised to be gentle and loving.
Let’s learn about Diamond, a pit bull who was once in the cruel world of dogfighting. She was given another chance to live like an average dog when she was rescued and adopted.

Diamond was once used as a bait dog during dog fights. She was in bad condition when she was rescued. After she was rescued and treated, Diamond put in the shelter for adoption.
Meanwhile, Melinda lost her beloved dog, who had been her most loyal companion for 16 years. She was a bit adamant about getting another dog because she does not want to experience the pain of losing a pet. However, when Melinda met Diamond and learned about her story, she felt that the dog needs help. She also believes that Diamond will also help her heal from the loss.
Melinda decided to adopt Diamond.
Diamond has visible scars on her head and body from battery scars. Because of this, her skin became very sensitive to light. Melinda puts sunscreen and moisturizer on Diamond’s delicate skin daily. At first, Diamond felt uncomfortable on the way Melinda cares for her, but eventually, she got used to it.
Melinda also thought of creating cute outfits for Diamond to help her cope with insecurities.
The first outfit that Melinda created for her consists of a Panama City Beach t-shirt, a bandana, and a dishtowel.
Later on, Melinda created more outfits for Diamond. She made a babushka cape for her from a leftover fabric on her granddaughter’s princess dress.

Melinda called Diamond “The Diva Dog” because she likes dressing her up. Melinda enjoys creating custom clothing for her new home companion. Melinda made Diamond a brand-new dog.

Melinda’s love and care changed Diamond from being a fearful and insecure dog to a happy and adorable animal.
