This Golden Retriever named Yardley is an avid fan of soccer, specifically his football club team Pollok. Pollok Football Club (FC) originated from Southern Glasgow, Scotland, where the dog also resides. The dog began his inkling on the sport when his owner brought him to a football match. From there, Yardley developed his appreciation of the competition and would often watch the team when they have homecourt games.

In a viral tweet by Ned Zelic, Yardley could be seen watching intently during one of the matches of Pollok FC in the European league. Ned, who is a former Australian professional football player, watched the game live.
According to Ned, he saw the pooch sitting beside his owner, and he found Yardley very adorable. This is the reason why he took a photo of the pooch then later uploaded it on Twitter. Ned did not expect that people would likewise find the dog cute. The simple tweet then became viral and had over 4,600 shares.

Yardley became an instant internet star because of his cute face and behaved manner during the football match. According to Yardley’s owner, the dog is not only a sports fan. The Golden Retriever likewise works as a therapy pooch. The dog would often visit senior residents of The New Victoria Hospital. He would go there to cheer the patients and provide them with the services he could render them.
